The first step in applying to the Summer Internship Program is filling out the online form so that we can get to know a little bit about you and your summer interests.
Our staff will then contact you within 2 weeks to schedule an interview.
The interview should take 15 – 20 minutes.
You will receive notification of whether you are accepted for an internship after April vacation and at that point will work with staff to match you for a job. You will need to have a second interview or meeting with the employer to finalize your hiring.
If hired, you must attend a ½ day orientation in late June – date TBD.
The schedule of the internship will be decided between you and your employer and will be approximately 10-15 hours per week from July 9th through August 17th. A 2.5 hour job skills workshop will run every Wednesday from 9-11:30 a.m. and will be required as part of your job.
Most internships will be paid at minimum wage. There may be some positions that are unpaid. In these instances, LEAP will arrange to pay a stipend.
