Virtual Summer 2020 Work Program
(Gloucester)

The six-week virtual program offered a unique opportunity for 20 high school students (minimum age requirement of 14) to design individual work-based learning projects, have one-on-one career mentors, and complete online career readiness training. The virtual program begun on July 6th and concluded on August 14th.

SUMMER 2020 PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Students worked 9 hours per week for 6 weeks, including a one hour per week virtual meeting with their mentor, and attended a two hour virtual workshop every Tuesday morning 9:30 – 11:30. Students who worked a total of 54 hours received 2.5 elective credits from Gloucester High School.

Students who participated in the program:

Icon - Student Stipend Money Symbol Earned a stipend! Stipends started at $500 and were earned through hours worked, attendance, and project completion. Students were also paid hourly by their employers.

Icon - Student In Virtual Setting Completed online career readiness trainings and participated in live sessions with LEAP staff.
