Virtual Summer Work Program (Salem)

Join LEAP for a six-week virtual program offering a unique opportunity for 30 to 40 students (minimum age requirement of 14) to design individual work-based learning projects, have one-on-one career mentors, and complete online career readiness training. The virtual program begins on July 6th and concludes on August 14th.

ORIENTATION

Prior to the start of the program, students will attend a required two hour orientation on Wednesday, June 24th from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

COHORT PREPARATION

Each student will be placed in a facilitator group that will meet twice a week during the duration of the program. Prior to the start of the program, each student will meet with a facilitator to express individual career interests, so that the student will be matched with a career mentor who has experience in a similar field.

Participants meet to discuss projects with a professional who specializes in the student’s area of interest. During the meetings, the student and professional will discuss both the progress of the project and additional applicable resources.

Participants meet to discuss individual projects, the career readiness workshops, and the self-paced Signal Success curriculum. During the meeting, the group will reflect and ask questions concerning all related topics.
