Family Seminars
These once-a-year FREE events help families of college-bound students take informed steps in the process of applying for college and financial aid, provide one-on-one and group assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and help families understand the college financial award letters.
MEFA College Financing Seminar
An overview of the college financing process, including types of financial aid, how to apply, and financing options for your family. Before the seminar, be sure to visit MEFA’s website to download a copy of the seminar presentation in English or Spanish and explore other tools and resources to assist you in the college planning process.

FAFSA Day
The College Success Program at LEAP for Education in collaboration with Salem Academy Charter School and community volunteers provides FREE assistance to high school seniors, college students, and their families filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
What to bring:
- FSA ID (bring both your Student FSA ID and Parent FSA ID, available at fsaid.ed.gov)
- Social Security Number
- Student’s Driver’s License Number (if applicable)
- Most current Federal Tax Return
- Most current W-2 or Year-End Pay Stub
- Most current Untaxed Income Records
- Current Bank Statement(s)
- Current Business and Investment Records
- Alien Registration Card (if not a U.S. Citizen)
